*If container is oversized it is unacceptable to deface it in any way to attempt to make the container in compliance. 

This includes but is not limited to cutting the container so that it may only hold 40 gallons or marking a line on the container to indicate 40 gallons.

**Recycling containers provided by the county are normally blue. 
If your recycling container is any other color or not issued from the county you are not exempt from this rule. 

Garbage in recycling containers will not only contaminate the bin but will also contaminate any future recyclables. These contaminated recyclables must then be disposed of in a land fill.

WARNING STICKERS

Any material that is not collected will be tagged with a warning sticker explaining why it was not picked up.

  • Too Many Cans / Bags of Garbage

-Residents may only put out three (3) bags or three (3) cans of garbage per household per week.

  • Garbage Cans / Bags Too Heavy*

-Bags exceed weight limit of 35 lbs or cans exceed limit of 40 gallons. Container might be oversized.

  • Bulk Item(s) Require Stickers for Pick Up

-Bulk items, appliances, or extra bags of garbage do not have required amount of bulk stickers.

  • Garbage Contains Recyclable Materials / Items Not Accepted

-Garbage contains recyclables or unacceptable items. Refer to list on Household Garbage page.

  • Garbage Cannot be Collected in Blue County Recycle Container**

-Garbage will not be collected in containers which are labeled for the purpose of recycling.
