Bill Payments

Payments of cash or check are received at the Tax Office during regular business hours.

If you would like to pay with a credit card or through your checking account, you can pay online.

Calculation of Sewer Bills

Sewer bills are calculated by $55 per unit charge for every quarter plus $4.03 for every 1,000 gallons of water used.

The water used number comes to us from the New Jersey American Water Company.

High Bills

If you think your water bill, for whatever reason, is higher than usual, your sewer bill will also be higher than usual. You must first get your New Jersey American Water bill corrected, then bring the corrected bill to our office, and we will correct your sewer bill based upon the New Jersey American Water corrected bill.

Due Dates

Sewer bills are due 30 days after they have been mailed. Since we depend on New Jersey American Water for water used amounts, these dates cannot be determined ahead of time. The date on the bill will be the actual date the payment is due. Any payments received after that date are delinquent and will be charged interest.

Please remember that it is not the date you mail your payment in, rather it is the date we receive your payment that determines the payment date.

Directions for Attorneys Requesting Final Sewer Bills for Closings

The following procedure must be done when handling a property sold in the Borough of Manville, New Jersey:

The Seller or the Seller’s Attorney is to call the New Jersey American Water Company at 800-272-1325 and set up a final meter reading.

Have New Jersey American Water Company mail or fax the final reading to the Attorney’s Office or mail the final bill to the seller’s new residence to be given to the Attorney.

The final water reading must be faxed or mailed to the Manville Sewer Department.

The Borough of Manville will then work up a final sewer bill based on the water consumed to the date of closing. If requested, the Borough of Manville Sewer Department will fax a copy of the final sewer reading to you.
