Andrea L.Wardrop (Bierwirth) is the Borough Administrator for the Borough of Manville since July 2016.  Andrea has a BA from Michigan State University in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and a Masters in Public Administration from Northern Illinois University where she graduated first in her class. Andrea is a member of Pi Alpha Alpha, the global honor society for public administration graduate students.  Andrea is a Certified Floodplain Manager since 2017.

Andrea devoted most of her career to professional municipal government. Her experience includes over 15 years in financial management roles in Illinois municipalities including the Villages of Hoffman Estates, Wilmette, Bartlett and Hanover Park. Before accepting her role as Borough Administrator in Manville, Andrea was an Associate in Tax with PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP in Florham Park, New Jersey where she spent 9 plus years in corporate tax audit and finance roles.

Andrea is committed to instilling a new level of professionalism to the Borough of Manville. Since 2016, she has hired Montgomery Township Chief Finance Officer Michael Pitts, Accountant/Treasurer Dale Melville and Payroll Manager Darleen Hamilton to run the Finance Department as part of a shared service agreement with the Township of Montgomery. Also, Pamela Borek, MBA and RMC, was hired in 2017 as Borough Clerk and Ronald Cefalone was hired in 2017 as Recreation Director. In 2018, George Sopko joined the Borough’s leadership team as Tax Assessor. These new department leaders, along with existing Directors Vince LoMedico, Lisa Gerickont and Patrick Renaldi provide for a well-educated, knowledgeable staff leadership team that Andrea is proud to lead.

Andrea is dedicated to serving Manville’s residents with full transparency and excellent customer service. Devoted to helping Manville’s residents mitigate flood risk and reduce flood insurance premiums, Andrea has attained her certification as ASFPM Certified Floodplain Manager and has conducted flood workshops and events aimed at helping Manville’s residents in this area of concern in the Borough. Andrea is working with the State of NJ planners and other experts to help revive Manville’s downtown business district and the Rustic Mall as she sees this as a top priority for Manville’s future.
