Flu Shot Clinics Open to Residents
Fight the Flu, Get a Flu Shot!
Did you get your flu shot this season? Somerset County Freeholder Sara Sooy, health department liaison, urges residents age 18 and above to visit a local clinic to get their flu shot.
County residents who meet certain guidelines can visit one of three flu shot clinics sponsored by the Somerset County Department of Health at the following locations:
- Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. North Plainfield Community Center located at 614 Greenbrook Road. This clinic is open to Somerset County residents who are age 18 and above. The cost is $5 for North Plainfield residents, $10 for non-borough residents; and free for borough first responders, borough employees, and residents with Medicare Part B.
- Thursday, Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Somerville Senior Housing located at 1 Mountain Ave. This clinic is open to Somerset County residents who are age 18 and above. The cost is free for residents who have Medicare Part B and $15 for other residents.
- Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 9 to 11 a.m. Franklin Township Community Senior Center located at 505 DeMott Lane. Please note: The clinic is only open to Franklin Township residents who are age 65 and above. Participants must bring valid identification and proof of residency. The cost is free.
To help prevent the flu, people should get vaccinated every year and practice good hygiene such as handwashing frequently with soap and water, covering the nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing, and minimize their contact with others when ill.
