[ARCHIVED] 01-17-2020: A message from the Borough of Manville:

A Winter Weather Warning is in effect for our area from 10 am Saturday, January 18th, through 1 am on Sunday, January 19th with the potential for up to 3 inches of snow followed by a mix of sleet and/or rain.

Residents are reminded that they are required to remove all vehicles from any “emergency street” as soon as the roadway begins to cover with snow.  Failure to comply will result in a traffic summons and the vehicle being towed.  All Manville residents are strongly urged to find off-street parking of all vehicles.

The emergency streets have already been pre-treated with brine.

Should it be necessary to activate plowing operations, emergency streets and main arteries are done first.  One to two passes are performed on the streets during the storm.  Once the storm is over then curb to curb plowing will be completed; unfortunately snow may be redistributed across a cleared driveway.  This is unavoidable and it is suggested that cleaning out the end of a driveway be done after streets are fully curbed.

Borough ordinance, #2017-1181, requires residents to clear their sidewalks of snow and ice.  When cleaning the sidewalks and driveways, please do not put the snow back in the roadway.  This is an ordinance violation and creates a safety hazard.

Please put your safety first as we work through this winter event.
